On this historic day, when the foundations of the Republic were laid, Sivas’s largest event—the September 4 Sivas Congress Culture and Arts Festival—is celebrated with great enthusiasm every year. The festivities typically begin on September 1 and continue for a week, through September 7.
Symbolic Welcome (September 2): Atatürk’s arrival in Sivas and his welcome by the people are symbolically reenacted.
Congress Museum Events: Official ceremonies are held in front of the historic Congress Building, and the work of the congress delegates is symbolically reenacted inside.
SoloTürk and the Turkish Stars: Breathtaking jet air shows are held almost every year at the Osman Seçilmiş Recreation Area or around the airport.
Agriculture and Industry Fair (AGROSİVAS): As part of the celebrations, the region’s largest agriculture and livestock fair opens its doors.
Concerts and Cultural Evenings: Public concerts featuring famous artists, a festival of folk poets, and folk dance performances are held in City Square and the museum garden.
