About

Ahmet Turan Gazi is a historical figure who played a significant role in the Islamization of Anatolia as a comrade-in-arms of Battal Gazi and Abdülvehhab Gazi. According to legend, this commander—known as Ahmer before converting to Islam—embraced Islam following a battle with Battal Gazi and took the name Ahmet Turan. It is believed that the hollows near the tomb of Ahmet Turan Gazi—who is said to have been martyred alongside Abdülvehhab Gazi during battle—and on the opposite hill are the hoofprints of his horse, which leaped from the opposite hill when he was wounded.
