The dome, with its castle-like plan and trompe-l'œil transition, features a dodecagonal drum on the exterior and a hexadecagonal ring above it. Like the mosque’s exterior walls, the drum and ring are constructed of cut stone and marble. The mihrab and minbar are adorned with muqarnas decorations.
