About

In 1978, the building was transferred to the General Directorate of Libraries and Publications of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Following its renovation in 1981, the upper floor of the Ziya Bey Library was once again converted into a library, while the space formerly occupied by shops on the lower floor was first designated as the Fine Arts Gallery Directorate and later reorganized as a library and bookstore.

Built as a two-story structure including the ground floor, the lower level is constructed of cut stone and rubble stone, while the upper level was built using the dolmagöz masonry technique. The building generally has a rectangular floor plan.
